Singer-songwriter Jessica Jalbert is the latest local to sign a record deal with a Canadian indie powerhouse.
She’ll release her new album, Cosmic Troubles, on March 31 via Vancouver’s Mint Records. But don’t look for her name on the album. She’ll now be known as Faith Healer — just as Dallas Green is known as City & Colour.

Cosmic Troubles is Jalbert’s first solo effort since 2011’s Brother Loyola, but she recently released an album, Buzzkill, with her punk band, Tee-Tahs, featuring Renny Wilson, Caity Fisher and Jenni Roberts.
Wilson issued his own solo album, Sugarglider, on Mint Records in 2013. He also produced Jalbert’s — er, Faith Healer’s Cosmic Troubles. Listen to two of her swirly, psychedelic songs:
